Today we’ll be taking a look at the Charlotte years. That is, the story of the girl who would become Laura Ingalls Wilder’s grandmother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But before we get into that, how crazy is it that it’s already the first day of December?! It’s really beginning to feel like Christmas around here. I decorated my room this morning. I prefer to decorate on the first of December, since that feels like when the holidays really<\/em> start. (One of the exceptions to the December first date is the Christmas tree. That should always, if possible, be procured the day after Thanksgiving. \ud83d\ude09 ) Anyway, on with the real topic of today’s post!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few weeks ago I recommended the series about Laura Ingalls Wilder’s great-grandmother, Martha Morse<\/a>. This series, on the other hand, is about Martha’s daughter, Charlotte Tucker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlotte lives in Boston, Massachusetts around the year 1814. Her father is a blacksmith, and her family consists of mother, father, and four siblings. The books chronicle a few of the happenings in this family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, it has also been a few years since I’ve read this series, but I remember enjoying it as much, if not more than, the Martha Years. Unfortunately, I only have two of the books in this series. I’m reasonably certain, however, that the content of the missing books would be about the same in quality. \ud83d\ude09 And as always, if you’d rather not read these books for yourself, have you considered reading them to a niece or young sister? I’m sure they’d enjoy it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where to find the Charlotte Years:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I could only find the first book<\/a> in the series, but I’m sure that with a some more searching the rest could be found. And of course, don’t forget about thrift stores and used book shops!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
