Hello! Today on Reading Wednesday I’ll be recommending a Christmas Classic I’m sure you’ve all heard of: A<\/em> Christmas Carol<\/em>. Let’s get started!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now as I said before, I’m sure you’ve all heard of A Christmas Carol<\/em>. You may have even read it already. My copy of the book contains another story, The<\/em> Cricket on the Hearth<\/em>, and The Chimes<\/em>, a New Year’s Eve story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, I have recommended other books<\/a> by Charles Dickens. I admire his writing style, and enjoy reading most of his books. A Christmas Carol<\/em>, fo obvious reasons, is the perfect book to curl up with on a cold day in December. It’s short enough to almost be read in one sitting, and features all sorts of cozy references to Christmas. Of course, no summary would be complete without a reference to the books protagonist, Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge. He is the miserly old man who has no use for Christmas (or the poor, for that matter) until a wild, ghostly Christmas Eve night changes his outlook. I enjoyed reading this book, and I believe you would as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A word on the other two books: The Chimes<\/em>, as I mentioned previously, is a New Year’s Eve story. It to features a night that changes the main character’s thinking. It does not have the same feeling as A Christmas Carol<\/em>, however. It’s goblins and ghosts (and storyline) are far more…unsettling. It eventually comes right in the end, however. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cricket on the Hearth<\/em> is called a fairy tale of home, which it is indeed. The story is amusing, and is a more lighthearted story to read after wading through The Chimes<\/em>. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n
