Hello again! Today on Reading Wednesday we’ll be taking a look at an interesting collection of letters (in book form) West from Home<\/em>. Let’s get started!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and this book was written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, who just happens to have also authored The Little House on the Prairie<\/em> series<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These letters chronicle Laura Ingalls Wilder’s journey to San Francisco in 1915. She’s writing the letters to her husband Almanzo, who was unable to leave the farm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura travelled to San Francisco to visit her daughter, Rose Wilder Lane, and her trip coincided with a historical event taking place in the city, the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. The letters give a glimpse into Laura Ingalls Wilder’s private thoughts and observations; as well as into an event of historical importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This book can not only be enjoyed by girls, but boys also! My younger brother can vouch for that. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n
