Hello! Today I’ll be sharing one of my most recent projects: making an 80’s romper. A kid-sized 80’s romper, more specifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you follow my Instagram, you probably saw the reel that I posted sharing about some patterns I recently acquired. Well, I finally got around to actually trying some of them out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I decided to make the third version of this pattern (which is from 1982), View C. I thought it would be adorable for one of my little nieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did hit a little snag right out of the gate with this pattern when I was attempting to change the sizing. The pieces have an “easy ruler” feature, which I had never seen before and consequently, it wasn’t exactly “easy”. Eventually (I think \ud83d\ude09 ) I figured it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After I got over that little problem, I cut out the pattern pieces. I used a light, striped fabric, which I think is cotton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After cutting out the pieces, I sewed together the middle seam on the front of the romper. Then I put some gathering stitches on the top edge of that piece, and then attached the front band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that were the front straps, which after being sewed together and turned inside out, were basted onto the front band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I sewed the facing of the front band on. This part also took a little more thought ( wasn’t sure how the straps would end up on the right side) but, eventually, it made perfect sense. \ud83d\ude09 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
