Hello again! Today on Reading Wednesday we’ll be taking a look at another book by Jane Austen: Sense and Sensibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chances are, you’ve heard of this book and have probably even read it for yourself. I decided to write about it today since I realized that I hadn’t already. And also because I just re-read it recently myself (I’m re-reading the Jane Austen novels. I’m on Pride and Prejudice now. \ud83d\ude09 ) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book follows a portion of the lives of the Dashwood family, particularly that of the eldest daughters, Elinor and Marianne. At the beginning of the novel, the Dashwood family’s circumstances are in a rather straightened state after the death of Mr Dashwood. As a result, the family, consisting of Mrs Dashwood and her three daughters, are removed from their pleasant estate into a small cottage some distance away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this place, many new acquaintances are made, not the least of which is that of a young man named Willoughby. Marianne is rather enamored by this young man, and he returns her affection, by all appearances. I’ll leave the rest for you to deduce for yourself. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n
