Hello again! Today on Reading Wednesday I’ll be continuing in the sharing of Jane Austen novels with this one: Pride and Prejudice<\/em>. Let’s get started! (And I’ll leave a link to the last two I posted here<\/a> and here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n\n

Pride and Prejudice<\/em> is probably one of the most popular of Jane Austen’s novels. It follows a portion of the lives of the Bennet family, mainly the two eldest, Jane and Elizabeth. Though the rest of the family also play a large part in the book; Mrs Bennet with her unquenchable personality, the silly young Kitty and Lydia, studious Mary, and Mr Bennet who contents himself in amusing himself by the foolishness of his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jane and Elizabeth, however are not quite so silly as the rest of their family, and their mother is sure that they will be able to find good matches. The news of a young, single gentleman of some fortune moving into the neighborhood throws much of the household into an uproar. Mrs Bennet pleads with her husband to call on the young gentleman, so that Jane might soon be introduced to him. What follows is an account of the various balls and visits that are gone through with in the book. Not to mention introductions; when a certain Mr Darcy is made known to the Bennet family, with no very auspiciuous results…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
