Hello again! Today I’m sharing another book by Louisa May Alcott. Let’s get started!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you’ve probably gathered, I enjoy reading Louisa May Alcott (See here<\/a> and here<\/a>). Some may say the stories are too dated to be relevant in the present, but I beg to differ. Even with all of the outward changes that have occurred, such as what we wear, how we talk, how we live, people<\/em> are really the same. Girls still feel lonely and wonder if they actually fit in, many struggles and joys are timeless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same can be said of Polly, who is a cousin to the wealthy Shaw’s. She visits the Shaw’s as a young girl, and is rather taken aback at the “modern” ways of the family, their friends, and acquaintances. She is at heart, an old-fashioned girl (you’ll understand more fully what that means when you read the book \ud83d\ude09 ). Eventually, the Shaw’s come to realize that perhaps, even as they smile in amusement at her, Polly’s way is<\/em> best. They have an opportunity to put their newfound conviction into practice when hardship comes upon their family… But, that’s all I’m going to say. I hope you give it a read!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s a link to An Old-Fashioned Girl<\/a><\/em>. The copy that I have of the book I purchased at a local book store. It’s from the year 1911. I believe it is the oldest physical copy of a book in my collection. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
