More Vintage Music

Hello! Today we’ll be taking a look at some more vintage music. Let’s get started!

Here are the three music sheets in question. The layouts are pretty similar to those of last week, each with a song and some advertisements for other music, etc.

More Vintage Music: A Closer Look

This cover is rather…interesting. The illustration is cute. But I’m not sure of the purpose of the photo of the man. Or why’s he staring so…unsettlingly. He doesn’t really fit with the happy song within the cover. Oh, and this sheet music is from the year 1924.

And here you can see the song within, and the ads on the back cover.

This next music sheet is from the year 1914. It doesn’t have quite as much flare to the cover as the music from the 20’s. But, it’s still very pretty, and looks pretty good to be more than a hundred years old!

I am curious to know what these songs actually sound like. I play the piano very little, but maybe I could persuade my sister (who actually teaches piano. I used to take lessons 🙂 ) to play them? Or maybe just apply myself to playing the piano well. 😉 It might not be too difficult to get back into the groove.

This one is a little newer than the other two, hailing from the year 1933. It’s also an example of some of the melodramatic content to a lot of these songs. Paired with the photo, it’s even better. 😉

It would be interesting to see some of those music books advertised on the back cover. I wonder what the “songs America loves best” were in 1933?

Well, that’s all for today. Oh, but I did want to say that if you’re looking for a bit more day-to-day content, I’ve been posting pretty often over on my Instagram. Why not check that out? 😉 Until next time ~ Emily
