Light Romance Reads
Hello! Happy Saturday. Today I thought I’d share a few romance reads for the spring season. Let’s get started!
There’s every possibility that you have already read/heard of this book, but I thought I’d share it anyway. This story follows the romantic foibles of the eldest Dashwood sisters, as they look for love (in perhaps the wrong places). It’s light and fun, and perfect for a spring day.
Doesn’t even the cover on this one speak of spring? If you’re looking for something more in the vein of Little House on the Prairie then this one is for you. A taciturn widower with a young daughter, a young woman alone in the world, and the love and faith that bring them together. It’s also the first book of a series, if you’re looking for something to read for the foreseeable future. 😉
It’s doubtful that there is anyone in the book world who hasn’t heard of Anne of Green Gables. Even so, that doesn’t make the books any less worth reading.
As I get older, I find myself gravitating more towards stories about favorite childhood characters as they grow older. For instance, Rose in Bloom as opposed to Eight Cousins. Good Wives as opposed to Little Women. And, the stories of Anne Shirley as she grows up, goes to college, finds love, and raises a family. Anne of Windy Willows is a prime example of an older story as Anne takes a position as a teacher. I hope you give it a read, if you haven’t already!
That’s all for today. I hope you were in the mood for romance books. 😉 Happy Reading! ~ Emily
