Headbands and Maxis
Hello! It’s Monday. You know what that means!
This outfit was worn a few weeks ago. Each piece that I incorporated into it kind of influenced the next one that I chose. For example, the flow-y skirt and fun print seemed to call for a scarf like the one I wrapped around my head. And the shirt is one of my favorite colors to wear, the jewelry matched the colors on the scarf, and so on. Little details like that (matching your jewelry and headband, etc) can make a big difference in what would otherwise be a pretty plain outfit. What do you think?
Oh, and on a side note, I realized that this is the first outfit I’ve posted that I’ve worn my hair up. I hope to remedy that soon. Perhaps I’ll be able to share some helpful tips on styling curly hair. (Not that I really know what I’m doing either! 😉 )
My hairstyle was inspired by one that is worn by the titular character in a movie version of Emma that we’ve watched. (The one with Kate Beckinsale.) She only wears it in a few scenes, but I’ve always liked the look of it. I think that my attempt turned out pretty decently. I like how the hairstyle doesn’t crush the ends of my hair, (where most of the ringlets are) but instead lets them hang free. It was also simple to do by myself!
Outfit Details:
My mom purchased the scarf at the dollar store several years ago. It slowly migrated to my hair-stuff stash, and I ended up cutting it in half and using it like a headband. The shirt is from Old Navy. The skirt was a Christmas present, and was purchased on Amazon. The black flats are from Walmart. Lastly, both pieces of jewelry were gifts, one for my birthday, the other my graduation.
Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. What are your favorite colors to wear? ~ Emily
