Pink Paisley and Curly Braids
Hello again! How are you this Monday?
I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago. It was Mother’s Day, so I thought I’d dress up a little more and wear one of the fancier dresses I have. Of course, I might have failed in that respect when I put a denim jacket over the dress… Moving on! I was pleased with how easily this outfit came together when I was picking it out the night before church. Usually I have an outfit change somewhere in the mix of getting ready in the morning. Something had a stain on it, or didn’t look like I remembered, or was too short, and so on. It was nice just to be able to slip this outfit on and be done.
Well, almost done. I did still have to fix my hair. Typically, I don’t braid my hair. Lately, however, I’ve been wanting to branch out a little and wear my hair differently, so that’s how this hairstyle came about.
First, I separated two similarly sized sections of hair at the sides, towards the front, of my head and braided them. Then, I sprayed the unbraided section of my hair with water (just enough to work with- I didn’t soak my hair) and worked some of the leave-in conditioner I use into it, just to make my hair less frizzy and more defined. I’ll link to the product I use here. Then I pulled and pinned the braided pieces to the back of my head, at right about the same level as the tips of my ears. After that I borrowed my mom’s Flexi clip and secured it at the point where the two braids met. What do you think? 🙂
Outfit Details:
The denim jacket was from the thrift store. I think it’s Colombia brand. The dress was from my mom. I believe it was purchased at J.C.Penney. I borrowed the shoes from my mom. Pretty simple outfit, but it’s still one of my favorites!
I hope you have a good day. What did you wear on Mother’s Day? ~ Emily
