New Skirts and Old Friends
Hello again! It’s Modest Monday again. Let’s get started. Oh, and I finished making my denim skirt!
I wore this outfit on a Saturday a few weeks ago. Some friends that we hadn’t seen in years were coming over to spend the day with us, so we had a lot that needed to be done before they came. As a result, I knew I needed something comfortable and easy to wear. I also wanted to look presentable. 😉 So, out came my new shirt and newly made skirt. What do you think?
(Something about the angle of this picture makes the skirt look a little strange. Anyway, you get the idea.) As you can see, I finished making my denim skirt. There was a little bit of uncertainty in the making of it (such as how in the world I made it five inches too big, or how do I make the waistband the right size…) but it eventually turned out. It seems that no matter what project I’m working on, I always get to the point of “why did I ever start working on this?” The only thing to do is to take a little time away from it, then keep working. Or quit. But that’s not really an option, is it? 😉
The t-shirt I’m wearing is a recent purchase from T.J.Maxx. I actually sewed the little white piece of fabric into the neck line, just so I don’t have to wear a tank with it (something I usually try to avoid). The skirt, as you know, was made by me, with denim purchased from Fashion Fabrics Club. The flip flops are from Old Navy, the earrings, J.C.Penney.
Well, that’s all for now. Have you made any skirts or clothing recently? Do you want to in the future? ~ Emily
