Hello!
My name is Emily! Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a Christian young woman, homeschool graduate, and aspiring modest fashion blogger. The idea for this blog has been in the back of my mind for months now, but I never quite got up the nerve to start it until now.
I was most recently inspired to actually begin after I searched for a blog for myself to read, and found nothing that suited what I wanted. Some were fashion that I suppose was modest, but just not to my taste at all. Others were no longer active, or they were “mommy” blogs, which is not the season of life I am currently in. I finally decided to take the plunge, so here I am!
In addition to fashion, I would also like to share art projects, life hacks, sewing tips, etc, to further encourage and inspire others on in their own lives, and maybe even to learn new skill! Anyway, these are only a few of the thoughts I’ve had in the making of this blog, just to give you an idea of the content you can expect. See you soon ~ Emily
This outfit I wore on New Year’s Eve of last year. The plaid shirt is a thrift store find. I rolled up the sleeves for two reason, first, it wasn’t very cold that day, and second, just to make it a little more interesting. Thrift stores are great places to find affordable, modest fashion. I probably bought this shirt for about one or two dollars. The navy blue tank is borrowed from my mom.
The ankle length skirt I made myself, about a year ago. It has held up well, and is very warm. If you don’t already know how, I would highly recommend learning how to sew. Sometimes a shirt or skirt only needs a little alteration to make it a beautiful, wearable, piece.
A word on jewelry: You may or may not notice that the only accessories I’m wearing are a watch and a pair of simple earrings. I am not naturally inclined to wear a lot of jewelry, but this outfit could easily be made more interesting with a bracelet, necklace, whatever your preference is. The earrings I am wearing were a gift from my brother two years ago.
