Fresh air, Fresh outfit
Hello again! I know I posted only yesterday, but I have a few outfit photos that have piled up that I want to post before too long. 😉 This one I wore last week, on one of the few days when it was warm enough for a spring outfit.
It was beautiful weather that day, and I it felt really good to wear short-sleeves and no jacket out in the sun! This ensemble is pretty typical of my daily wear in the summer, cool, casual, and comfortable.
I made the skirt myself out of leftover scraps of fabric from the last skirt I made (The one I wore in the last post!)
It was a really simple project, since I just used the rough edges of the fabric for the hem and didn’t have to do anything to make it hang straight. The zipper was a little more trouble (upside down zipper, anyone?) but it wasn’t too hard of a fix, and now I have a new skirt for the Spring!
A word on shoes: In the above outfit photos, I’m wearing the boots I always wear in warmer weather. They are perfect for messy jobs or walking around the property in the mud, but I wouldn’t usually go out shopping in them. The picture I’ve inserted above shows two other pairs of shoes I would wear if I were to go out in public in this outfit. The left pair would be for walking or hiking, and the other would be for running errands, etc.
The shirt is from J.C.Penney, the walking shoes are from Jambu, and the flats are from Walmart, I believe. Oh, and in case you’re curious, the boots are also picked up from Walmart. They’re very sturdy!
I did slip on a pair of shorter, knee length leggings for running errands and extra warmth in the evening, but before that I wore the skirt without shorts, just staying aware if I were sitting down since the stiff material does tend to balloon up a little. 😉
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and I intend to write more in the near future!
