Blue Skirt, Blue Nails

Hello! Today we’ll be taking a look at an outfit that features a blue skirt, blue nails, and my trusty black sweater. Let’s get started!

This outfit came about, as silly as it seems, to match my nails. You see, I’d done my nails the previous day to match a particular dress I’d worn to a wedding. The nails (which I’ll show in a minute) are a little…different than what I usually gravitate towards. But, they did push me to actually wear this skirt, which has been hanging out in my closet ever since I bought it. I guess I just don’t have many outfits in mind that work with a bright blue skirt. 😉

My hair I did in the style that has lately become a habit with me. My hair was still a little, I don’t know, crunchy, since I’d used hair spray on it the previous day. For that same wedding outfit (that I really wanted to take Modest Monday photos of, but it just didn’t get done) that I did my nails for, actually. Luckily, it still worked out that I could wear my hair down, with only a little coaxing. I explained how I did this hairstyle in this post.

And here are the nails. As you can see, they’re kind of a cross between snake and fish scales. Not really my usual thing, but they grew on me after a while. Before I applied them, I was a little on the fence as to wether or not they were just plain ugly. Obviously, I decided they weren’t. 😉 I purchased them off of this website.

Blue Skirt, Blue Nails Outfit Details:

The earrings and bracelet were gifts for my birthday and graduation. The sweater was from BJ’s. I’m not exactly sure where the necklace came from. 😉 I bought the shirt from Old Navy. And the skirt I purchased second-hand off of Thredup. The boots were hand-me-downs.
