How I Decorated for Christmas
Because, yes, it is that time of the year! As I said in a previous post, I decorate for Christmas on December 1st. What I mean by that is that I decorate my own room on December 1st. Usually the decorations in the rest of the house go up before then. 😉 Anyway, let’s get on with how I decorated for Christmas!
With my room, I almost always have a wreath on my door. This is the one I put up for Christmas. It looks a little ragged, but I’ve had it for a long time. It’s a Christmas tradition by now!
And then we come to the first of three Christmas trees in my room. Yes, it might just look like a pile of lights, paper chains, and ornaments, but what can I do with such a small tree? 😉 And no matter what I do, the star will be crooked. My sister gave me the tree skirt and star. The tree and ornaments were purchased from Target a while back.
And here we have the decorations on top of one of my bookshelves. These three ornaments are ones I’ve traded for at ornament exchanges. I like to display them on their own, rather than on a tree. And the gold wire you can see are my fairy lights. I found out it’s so much easier to make the wire stay where I want it to when I use tape to keep it in place. You might be able to just barely see that in the photos.
This is the other half of the book shelf. You might notice that Santa makes an appearance. No, I do not believe in Santa Claus, but I do like the vintage looking box. 😉 The red flowers in the vase are from when I was a bridesmaid in my eldest sister’s wedding. (Oh, and one note on these pictures. I think the decorations look much more coherent and well, just better, in person. That might just be my opinion, though. 🙂 )
How I Decorated for Christmas Part Two?
I’m now realizing that this is going to be a pretty long post if I try and fit all of the photos in here. I think a part two is in order? What do you think of how I decorated for Christmas? Do you like a lot of decorations or something more simple? ~ Emily
