Pearls and Polkadots

Hello! It’s Modest Monday.

This is an outfit I wore a few Sundays ago to church. This one took a few tries too before I came up with an outfit I liked, but I’m glad I found this combination. I think the dark blue, white, and pearls make a very elegant ensemble, but that might just be me. 😉

The outfit was perfect for the temperature outside. By layering the tank top and short sleeved shrug, I wasn’t too hot or too cold in the mild, Spring weather.

Spring and Fall are probably my favorite seasons of the year for choosing outfits. You can wear sweaters and shrugs and short sleeves, and not be uncomfortable in either. In the Summer it’s just too hot for shrugs (so people tend to wear less clothes than they should. I’m looking forward to sharing how I dress in the Summer, modestly!) and in the Winter you have to bundle up and risk looking like a marshmallow whenever you step out the door. 😉

Details of the outfit: I don’t exactly remember how the shrug came to be in my closet, but I’d guess it was a hand-me-down from one of my sisters. The tank top is from J.C.Penney. I wore it backwards so that the high-neckline was in the front. The skirt is from Costco, though I’m not certain if they carry them anymore. The blue shoes and pearl necklace were borrowed from my Mom. 🙂 The shoes were from Payless years ago. I’m not sure where you could get something like that now, since Payless is no longer in business. The pearls were a gift to my Mom.

Alright, I’d better get to work. I hope this post was enjoyable to you! (And, on a side note, I plan to share a more casual outfit next week so you can get a better idea of what I wear on days that aren’t Sunday) ~ Emily
