Purple Stripes + Denim

Hello again! Here, as promised in the last Modest Monday post, I have a casual outfit to share with you!

This is a simple Spring outfit I wore a few weeks ago. Most of the nieces and nephews were over that day, so it was perfect for running around the yard after them! 😉

Details of the outfit: I go off and on about liking the striped shirt I’m wearing in the photos above. I bought it (and two others in different colors) at J.C. Penney a while back. It’s not made out of the best material, and sometimes I just feel less-than-put-together when I wear it. On this day, though, it seemed like it worked with the skirt.

Speaking of the skirt, this is another one I made myself. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually found a denim skirt this long in a store, and even if I had, it would most likely have been out of my price range. 😉 I found that making denim skirts wasn’t very difficult, plus you get the satisfaction of wearing a quality piece of clothing you created yourself. 🙂

For shoes I’m just wearing my Summer boots from Walmart. I find those the most practical for going out in the mud and dirt. (Unless, of course, I’m barefoot altogether. 😉

I’m not wearing any jewelry (besides my earrings) for this outfit. Usually I just don’t think of it, unless I’m going to Church, etc. Since taking these outfit pictures I’ve tried to incorporate a few more pieces into my everyday wear, though usually just an easy bracelet or simple necklace.
