Red For Valentine’s Day
It may be a little early, but people wear red for Valentine’s day, right? Let’s get started!
Yesterday we braved the cold in order to get pictures outside. Not after trying several indoor locations, without much success, however. 😉
With this outfit, I suppose I just felt like wearing a lot of red. Oh, and I had also just made the dress a couple days before, so naturally I wanted to wear it. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of the making of the dress, or the making of the pattern for the dress. I guess I wasn’t too hopeful that it would actually work. 😉
I did take pictures of the making of a shirt a couple of days ago, using the same pattern, however. Be on the lookout for that in a Simply Saturday post. Oh, and hopefully I’ll be able to go a bit more in depth in that Simply Saturday post, but here’s the dress I based the pattern off of, at least.
With this hairstyle I was actually pleasantly surprised. I didn’t really have any ideas for what I wanted to do with my hair, but I started by twisting back the side pieces and pinning them in place. Then I twisted up the rest of my hair, twirling it against itself and securing it in place. I was kind of zoned out while I was doing my hair, just trying to get it up, but then I discovered that it actually looked better than I thought it would. That’s always nice. 😉 It’s a little messy in these photos, but you get the idea.
In this photo you can see a bit of the jacket and scarf I put on immediately after taking pictures. As well as the earrings I wore. 😉
Red For Valentine’s Day Outfit Details:
Dress made by me, obviously. Sweater (the sleeves look like that because they were rolled up ) from Old Navy. The boots are Muck brand (and wouldn’t normally go with the outfit, but we were going on a walk around the property directly after the photo shoot 😉 ). My sister made the earrings.
That’s all for now! Do you wear red for Valentine’s Day? Or nine days before Valentine’s Day, as the case may be? ~ Emily
