The Kingdom Series

The Kingdom Series

Hello! Today we’ll be taking a look at The Kingdom Series, another series by Chuck Black. (I talked about another one here.) Let’s get started!

This book series is an allegorical telling of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Set in a world of knights and Shadow warriors and sword fights, though. I will say that I enjoyed The Knights of Arrethtrae series, also by Chuck Black, more than this series. Not to say that this series isn’t well-written (it could use improvement, but that’s true of almost everything 😉 ) but I suppose something just felt more…real about the knights series? I don’t know. Perhaps if I read them again now I would feel differently about them.

Of course, reading this series is interesting as you recognize the true stories of the Bible told in this form. And in case it’s not obvious to you, the author has also added study questions and answers at the end of the book. So if you get confused as to what he’s referencing, it’s explained at the end of the book. Also, the author’s commentary page explains further the contents of the books. In those pages you’ll find that the author didn’t want these stories to be simple adventure stories; but to point you to discover the truth of God’s word.

Where to find The Kingdom Series:

I’ll leave a link to the series here. I hope you check them out! Chuck Black also has another series I’d like to read. Maybe that will show up on the blog sometime. 😉

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have you been reading any new ( or new to you) books lately? ~ Emily
