Crocheted Elephant Lovey
Hello! Today on Simply Saturday we’ll be taking a look at one of my latest crochet projects: a crocheted elephant lovey. Let’s get started!
Unfortunately I didn’t get very good photos of it, but here it is! I made it for a friend’s new baby.
Somehow, whenever I think of making another lovey, I forget about how difficult the making of the blanket is. For me, at least. Something about the joining rounds and it never sitting flat when it’s finished. The head was easier, made all in one piece, and the ears and arms were made separately. It only took me about three days of crocheting (not all day, of course) to finish, so it’s a pretty quick project.
I used a pattern from Nicole Chase, which was, for the most part, easy to understand. Only when it came to the blanket did I have trouble. I may have been just misunderstanding that portion, or it was written wrong. Either way, I had to make a few changes to how I crocheted it versus what was written. Just be aware of that if you intend to use this pattern.
It did turn out as a pretty cute lovey, however. And perfect for a new baby! I didn’t know if the baby was a girl or a boy, so I thought that this choice of colors could work for either. What do you think?
Oh, and I’ll link to another lovey I made here. In case you’re interested. 😉
Well, I suppose that’s all for today! Have you been working on any crochet projects lately?
