Patterned Maxi with Denim

Hello! Today on Modest Monday we’ll be taking a look at an outfit featuring a patterned maxi with denim. Let’s get started!

Somehow all of these photos turned out a little awkward looking. Just ignore that. 😉

Anyway, I wore this outfit a couple of days ago. It was pretty rainy on that day, but pretty warm. This outfit worked out well for that.

I don’t usually mix these different types of clothes. The patterned, busy skirt, the denim jacket, and the laced up shoes. Somehow I thought it worked though. What do you think?

It may be a little hard to see, but I tried something a little different with my hair on that day. Usually I put my hair up pretty low on the back of my head; That particular day I decided to try putting it up higher, which I actually really liked. Plus, it didn’t rub on the collar of my jacket.

I’m afraid explaining how I did it would be a little difficult, since I pretty much just gathered all of my hair at the altitude I wanted it (like a ponytail) then pushed it together, used bobby pins, and hoped it would stay. It did, so that’s cool. 😉

Oh, and I decided on stud earrings since I felt like the hairstyle was already different enough from what I usually did that it didn’t need anything else to add interest. Plus studs are nice for a change, sometimes. 🙂

Patterned Maxi with Denim Outfit Details:

The denim jacket (which I’ve worn in many blog posts before, such as this one, and this one.) came from J.C.Penney. The shirt I made myself. The skirt came from the thrift store, and the shoes are Jellypop brand. And the earrings are from T.J.Maxx.

That’s all for now! How do you style patterned maxi skirts? ~ Emily
