Lace and Stripes
Hello, it’s Modesty Monday! Today I’m sharing how I styled a modest outfit, with lace. 🙂
This outfit, which I wore a few weeks ago to church, was a little darker than I usually wear. But, I thought that the white lace brightened it up enough. What do you think? As you can see, I paired the shirt with one of my favorite black skirts. The skirt is twirly and comfortable (My only complaint is that it is a bit staticky), and I think the style goes well with my black heels. I accented with a bracelet and a pair of earrings.
These earrings, actually. I recently purchased them at J.C.Penney. On a side note: I originally thought that they were plain gold colored, but my older sister informs me that they are rose gold. 😉 In any case, I like the fact that instead of a random shape in the middle, they’re flowers instead.
It can actually be a little difficult to find a way to make an outfit modest when using lace. Usually there isn’t any sort of underlay beneath the lace, so you’d have to wear a tank top, which can be too bulky, or, just give up lace altogether. 😉 I didn’t really want to do that. Which is one of the reasons I like this shirts much. It’s comfortable, well made, and features modest lace.
Outfit Details:
I bought the shirt at a thrift store. The brand is Croft & Barrow. The skirt brand is east5th. The heels were also from the thrift store (and have been featured on the blog here and here). A good pair of black heels goes a long way! One of my older sisters gave me the bracelet. I’m not sure where she got it.
Well, that’s all for now. How do you style tricky outfits to be modest? ~ Emily
