David Of Blunderstone Rookery

David Of Blunderstone Rookery

Hello again! Today’s post is going up a little later than usual, but I’m finally here!

Due to the busy nature of the past few days, I hadn’t given much thought to the book I would be recommending today. I had several titles simmering at the back of my mind, but hadn’t decided on one yet. Until, that is, when I was looking over my bookshelves and found David Copperfield.

David Copperfield is a classic novel written by Charles Dickens. It’s written in first person, in the form of David recording his history. It’s one of Charles Dicken’s most popular works, and for good reason. The writing is excellent, the character sketches life-like and vivid, and a real connection is made between the reader and the people inhabiting the pages.

David Copperfield begins almost at the exact moment of the titular character’s birth. It continues on the through the many trials the young boy faces as he matures and grows into a man. Due to the style in which the book is written, we see many of the ways in which the boy (and later, young man) sees and interprets his surroundings in a very personal way. I hope you give it a read! (Oh, and I recommended another book by Charles Dickens here.)

And here’s a link to David Copperfield.

Well, I hope I’ve peaked your interest. Happy reading! ~ Emily
