What I Packed for a Weekend Trip
Hello again! Today I’ll be doing something a little different: A ‘what I packed for a weekend trip’ post! (Oh, and let me say here that this post was scheduled to be posted on Saturday. I wrote it before we left for our trip. 🙂)
So we’ll just dive right in here. Pictured above are the back pack and travel case I use to carry most of my things when on a vacation. I also have a purse and smaller bag (for books and things) that I plan on bringing with me. We’ll only be gone for three nights, so I won’t need to bring a whole lot of stuff. Let’s take a look at what I’m packing!
What I packed for a Weekend: The Outfits
For my outfits, I was thinking simple and functional, but not boring. From right to left are pictured my outfits for the first, second, and third days of our trip. We’re heading to the mountains, so I needed something that would be good for hiking. Any of these skirts can be paired with leggings to make it totally appropriate for such an activity. (As you can see in this post.) I did realize that I picked a bunch of bulky denim skirts, but due to the way I pack them, there shouldn’t be a problem with fitting all of them in my backpack.
In order to conserve space and minimize wrinkling, I rolled the outfits up like they are pictured above. I think that they fit a lot neater into my backpack when I pack them in this way.
Moving on from the main outfits, I have the “extras” that are still very important. Left to right, I have my pajamas (and no, I never actually played basketball, contrary to what it looks like 😉 ) my swimsuit, and a pair of shorts and a long tee, just in case. The swimsuit is actually just a skort and a sports shirt, since regular swimsuits aren’t really my thing. 😉 And, I thought it would be a good idea to bring shorts. Never know when there’ll be an impromptu game of Ultimate Frisbee, or a rock climbing excursion. Wouldn’t want to miss that. I rolled these outfits up in the same way as the last ones, and packed them in my backpack.
What I Packed: The Accessories
In the jewelry department, I packed pretty light. Two necklaces, two bracelets, and two pairs of earrings. Technically, I’ll have three pairs since I’m planning on wearing the leaf set on the trip up there. I figured there wasn’t much use in weighing myself down with a bunch of jewelry, since there probably won’t be a lot of time to think about stuff like that, anyway.
And pictured here are most of the things I packed for my hair. (I did slip a few more clips, a headband/scarf, and a Flexi-clip into the carrying bag later.) I’m not exactly sure what I’ll be doing with my hair, so I packed a few different varieties so I have options.
Let’s see, I still have to get my makeup and things together, but this is the bulk of what I packed for our weekend trip. I was hoping to be able to share a bit more, but due to time constraints, this’ll just have to be enough. Maybe there’ll be a second half…? Anyway, what did you think? How do you pack modestly for weekend vacations? ~ Emily
