Calligraphy Made Easy
Hello Again! Today on Reading Wednesday (even though it’s Thursday 😉 ) I’ll be sharing something a little different: Calligraphy Made Easy. Let’s get started!
One of my goals this new year is to work on getting a little better with some of my hobbies/skills. Calligraphy is one of those things I enjoy doing, but I’m not too confident that I can do well. I figured some of you might be in the same boat. So, I thought I’d share a book that’s good for practice and art.
I was gifted this book, Calligraphy Made Easy, a few years ago.
Here, as you can see, the different strokes are demonstrated by the illustrations on the far left. On the right you can see letters that I made. On the right hand page is more space for practice. There are several other pages explaining different techniques, flourishes, and styles.
Towards the back of the book are projects such as this. I liked the look of this illustration, so I decided to copy it as closely as I could. Of course, you could put whatever phrase that you like. As with the practice exercises, the book version is on the left, and mine is on the right.
Once these pages are finished, they would make very pretty pictures for the wall, or perhaps slipped into the front of a binder, etc.
Well, this is the last one I’ll share for now. 😉 I thought this one was pretty, so I just copied it as best as I could. Even just flipping through this book again is inspiring me to start a calligraphy project… Any suggestions as to what I should make?
Oh, and here you can see a project I did with regular handwriting. Not everything has to be fancy to look nice!
