A Day’s Outfits: 4th Of July Edition
Hello again! Today I’ll be sharing not one, but two 4th of July outfits. Oh, and happy belated Independence Day! 😉
Outfit Number One: Church
As mentioned in this post, I tend to go a little bolder with red, white, and blue on Independence Day. Yesterday was no exception. 😉 I was a little concerned that it was too in your face to wear to church, but later decided that I would usually wear the blue and white together, I just added a red skirt. Oh, and you might recognize the skirt. What do you think? I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It was comfortable and fun to wear.
For some reason these photos make the hair clip in my hair look very off center. It wasn’t actually like that in person. (And since my hair was still a little damp, you could still see the bobby pin. After my hair dried and fluffed up, it disappeared. 😉 ) I did a simple hairstyle, just twisting back my hair on both sides and securing it with a little claw clip. Then I spritzed the rest of my hair with water and added leave-in conditioner.
Outfit Number Two: Casual
After church, we planned to meet some friends for a few games of Ultimate Frisbee. Since it would be a little difficult to wear a skirt for an activity like that, I changed into shorts and a t-shirt, still keeping the red, white, and blue color scheme. I wore a long shirt that would cover me in the back, to make wearing the shorts more modest. I stayed in this outfit for the rest of the day’s activities, when we headed out to watch some fireworks.
Outfit Number One Details: The shawl/sweater thing, handmedown. The tank top is from J.C.Penney. The skirt is handmade. I bought the flip-flops at T.J.Maxx. One of my older sisters made the earrings, and the bracelet was a graduation gift.
Outfit Number Two Details: I think the shirt is from the Dollar Store. Sometimes they just randomly have clothes. It’s a pretty nice t-shirt, though. 😉 The shorts are from J.C.Penney. The flip-flops are from Old Navy. Jewelry, same as the first outfit. Oh, and you can’t really see it, but I did add a red, braided headband to my hair, just for some more color.
And as a prize for making it through both of those outfits, here’s a picture of the fireworks that my younger brother took last night. 😉
I hope you enjoyed this post! How did you celebrate Independence Day? ~ Emily
