The Peach Shirt: Outfit #1
Hello again! Today I’ll be sharing another Summery, modest outfit for church.
This was one of those great outfits that you picture in your head and then it actually works out in real life. I’ve thought up some others that haven’t worked out that well… 😉 Anyway, I had been trying to think of an outfit to wear this shirt with, but it wasn’t until my mom bought the maxi skirt that I thought of one. Pairing something bright with the black and white skirt (instead of, say, the black shirt I would have worn) made the outfit a whole lot more bright and Summery.
I did have a little trouble with the neckline of the shirt. As you can probably tell, it’s rather low. I wanted to avoid having to wear a tank top, so I used a piece of fabric off of a slip I had cut up a little while ago. I attached it to my bra straps with safety pins. The black fabric coordinated with the rest of the outfit, but it wasn’t very easy to actually keep modest when one of my little nieces sat on my lap during church services. Little kids have a tendency of pulling on your clothes, etc. It turned out to be very distracting as I worried about it. Not what I’m supposed to be thinking about at church, to say the least. I did end up reattaching the fabric in a much more secure way, so it worked out after that. I even got some compliments on how the color suited my skin tone, so that’s cool. 😉
Outfit Details:
The shirt was a hand-me -down. The brand is Gap. The skirt (which I’ll just say, might be my favorite maxi skirt, except for maybe this one, which technically wasn’t a maxi skirt… Anyway, the length on this one was perfect, the fit, the design… 😉 ) is Robert Louis brand. I wore my standby black flats from Walmart, earrings from J.C.Penney, and silver bracelet from Alex and Ani.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this post! Next week I plan to share how I incorporated the same shirt for a very different day’s activities! What did you wear this Sunday? ~ Emily
